Attention!

Hey friends!

Just wanted to tell you all that I haven't been able to reply your emails. I was in Surabaya for about 4 days and had no internet connection at my grandma's house. I'll get in touch with you soon!

Special dedication for Indos in Wichita!

Guess what I had today! Huahuahuahua....
1. Kepiting Saos Padang
2. Ikan bakar
3. Kangkung cah terasi
4. Cumi cumi bakar
5. Sambel terasi ulek...
Yummmmmmmmyyyyyy *wink wink*
Oh by the way, I'm attaching this picture of ikan bakar to kinda remind you all about how it looks like.. Coz I know there is someone who's been in Wichita for almost 9 years.. (ehmm, Hi Den!) Huahuahuaa!!

Me and the girls....

Totally had a blast yesterday with my girlfriends. Started with lunch at Din Tai Fung. Did some catching ups. Lots and lotsa updates! As usual, it's always fun when the girls meet up and 'discuss' some stuffs! It's been a while since we met, but the 'discussion' still flew really well... Haha! And I didn't realize that there are loads of 'news' that I've been missing out on. Then, we continued our 'catching up session' at Gelato's Ice Cream. That's even better! Haha! Andddd.. of course thanks to Rosa who had the idea of ordering 8 flavors of ice cream. That was a lot of ice cream! I felt like a cow! But, but, but... they were great! Haha! We had hazelnut, coffee, ogura, green tea, strawberry, wine, black sesame and chocolate mint flavors. Totally pampering! And guess what I'm left with now! Okay, you're right! Extra pounds! Alrites girls, can't wait for our next 'meeting' on Friday nite!

Come take a peek at my cute hometown, Jakarta!

Here's the town where I grew up in!
The first picture is called MONAS (Monumen Nasional or National Monument). The second one is Jakarta's downtown.
This is the business district and where most of the shopping plazas are located.
Hey Indos in Wichita, missing Jakarta? Haha!

Growing or Glowing?

Today is really really a shopping day for me! Hold on! Don't get me wrong! I'm not talking about shopping all those clothes, shoes or jewelries! I'm talking about food shopping! Hahaha! Yeah I meant food shopping! And my goodness, it a was nonstopped eating trip today.

Started with noodles and pangsit goreng for lunch! Haha! You Indos must know what I'm talking about! Then, we went to EX to buy some breads from 'Bread Story' and 'Bread Talk' shops thinking that all those are for our breakfast tomorrow! But, who could resist the look of those breads? They were screaming out loud to be eaten! Hahaha... well, not quite! But anyhow, that's what happened! Then we had some ice cream! Okay, we had a large cup of ice cream! But, but, but... let me clarify something... in Asia, a large-sized cup of ice cream equals to an extra small (well, not really! Haha!) in the US... So in conclusion, I had a large strawberry lychee ice cream.... yummm! Came back home, and two hours later, it was dinner time! And again, we couldn't resist mom's yummy cooking! So, we ate again!

And now, GUESS WHAT!! I CAN'T BREATHE! I have certainly 'grown' for the past 5 days! Oh mannnnn! Can't believe this is happening so fast and I still have roughly a month left at home! So, am I growing or glowing? Haha! I guess the first one sounds about right!

Home sweet home....

Hey y'all!

Finally I got home on Thursday afternoon Jakarta time. After such a long and boring flights by myself, I felt so good meeting my family... Nothing has really changed in Jakarta... Everything still looks the same... Traffic jam everywhere... People honking on the street.. That noise! Mannn, I've missed that for about 18 months! Haha!

Went to the US Embassy first thing on Friday morning. I like to have my ducks in a row, that's why I had the appointment very early.... Got approved to come back to the US, which is a very good thing to me..

Had BAKMI GAJAH MADA for lunch yesterday for lunch... Haha... I made some Indos in Wichita jelaous about that yesterday through msn! Ooppps sorryyyy!! Hahaha..... Then I had Indo's authentic fried chicken with tempe bacem and lalap last nite! Yummmyyyyyyyyy!! Hahaha....

Anyways, I think I will use this blog for the next month to kinda give y'all a glimpse (yeah a glimpse only) of what I'm doing in Indo! Hahahaa! Alrites friends! Catch y'all later!

Will miss ya!!!

Lee Ya is on the count down now! What is she counting down?
THE HOURS.
Yes, she is going home today! In fact, she is going home in about 6 hours!
Time really flies!
So, what does she want to do when she lands on her 'beloved' country?
Of course, eat her mommy's food!
Certainly looking forward to it!
But, certainly not looking forward to gain weight, which she knows it for sure happens!

So, Wichitan friends, when you see her on August 10th, even though she looks as fat as elephant, please greet her with your big big hug with the most beautiful smile you can ever give and tell her that she still looks as pretty as Angelina Jolie or Jennifer Anniston or any of those Hollywood stars! DEAL???!!! Hahaha! Joking!

Anyways, enough writing from the third person, I'm gonna miss you all, friends!

I'm gonna miss the night phonecalls... *winks*
I'm gonna miss Yong Chen calling me every 7 p.m. in the evening asking, "Eh, what to cook today?" Haha!
I'm gonna miss chit chatting with Huan and Vincent about some 'stuffs'
I'm gonna miss hanging out every Saturday after the Mission
I'm gonna miss singing in the Worship Team
I'm gonna miss driving to the west side every 8 a.m. in the morning
I'm gonna miss the shrimp fried rice that someone has promised since long time ago (haha! *joking*)
I'm gonna miss Yong Chen's Maling (haha! Well, it comes too often until we got 'tired' of it, but sure will miss that for a month.. haha! sorry, Yong Chen!)
I'm gonna miss my 'playing mommy' times! (Haha! I think only Jasmine knows what it means)
Bottom line, I'm gonna miss you all!

Thanks for making my one-month-alone stay worth it!
I'll see you in a month! I'll be praying for all of you!!!

Quote of the week!

Went to lunch with some friends and one of them said this famous saying,

"You have to kiss a lot of frogs to find a handsome prince"

Hmm... really?

Butterflies....

This is my last weekend in Wichita before I head back home...
Certainly have butterflies in my stomach..
Ready to see and reunite with my family..
Ready to see my girlfriends and catch up with them..
Ready to eat those that I've been missing for the past 18 months..
Ready to be lazy around at home..
But,
Kinda sad to leave the great cell group that we have here in Wichita...
Anxious to see what God has in store for 'The Mission' after this summer..
Nervous to know what God wants in my personal life after I return to Wichita..
Many decisions to be made...
Many things to look forward..
Many memories to be left behind...
Wow!
Those butterflies are certainly dancing in my stomach!
